TAG supports Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people enrolled in tertiary studies with grants of up to $10,000* to offset the cost of living while studying.
The grant is to help reduce housing stress for students so they can focus on their studies and successfully complete their course.
TAG is available to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students who are:
- Living in NSW
- Enrolled with any tertiary institutions located in NSW studying on campus or online in an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 5 Diploma and above
- Are paying 30% or more of their gross income (before tax) to rent (accommodation costs).
This program is administered by The Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO), a statutory body established under the Aboriginal Housing Act 1998 (NSW) to ensure that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have access to affordable, quality housing.
*TAG is paid on a flat rate basis, depending on how much of your income (before tax) goes to rent (>30% - <50% = $5,000, >50% = $10,000).
